Risks & Damages

Common Species in Malaysia
Several termite species exist in Malaysia, but three are especially widespread and harmful.
GERMAN COCKROACH (BLATTELLA GERMANICA)
This small-sized cockroach is easily recognized by the two dark streaks on its pronotum. It is the most common species found in homes and breeds rapidly, making infestations difficult to eliminate once established.
AMERIAN COCKROACH (PERIPLANETA AMERICANA)
Large in size and ranging with reddish-brown wings and light markings on its thorax. It prefers moist environments such as sewers and drains and is capable of gliding short distances when disturbed.
ORIENTAL COCKROACH (BLATTA ORIENTALIS)
Medium in size and ranging from dark reddish to shiny black, this species is commonly found outdoors or in sewer-like areas. It feeds on decaying organic matter and is known for producing a strong, unpleasant odor.
SMOKY BROWN COCKROACH (PERIPLANETA FULIGINOSA)
Large in size and ranging with dark brown, typically lives outdoors, especially near water sources. It becomes more likely to invade homes during the rainy season.
BROWN-BANDED COCKROACH (SUPELLA LONGIPALPA)
Small in size and ranging with light brown that prefers dry environments and is often found hiding in furniture. Also known as the “furniture cockroach,” it can survive with minimal moisture.
