Rats
Rats are among the most feared and unhygienic pests, known for spreading diseases and causing extensive property damage. Commonly found in homes, buildings, farms, and sewers, rats thrive in filthy environments like garbage dumps and drains. Through their urine and droppings, they contaminate food and surfaces, posing serious health threats. They also gnaw on electrical wiring, which can lead to costly damage—or even fire.
Risks & Damages

Common Species in Malaysia
There are three main rodent species commonly found in Malaysia. Each type differs in size, behavior, and nesting preference.
BROWN/NORWAY RAT (RATTUS NORVEGICUS)
The Brown or Norway rat is larger and more dominant than the roof rat. Known for its strength and strong swimming ability, it typically lives close to the ground and is commonly found nesting in burrows, basements, and within wall cavities.
HOUSE MOUSE (MUS MUSCULUS)
The house mouse is a small, agile rodent that adapts well to indoor environments. It often nests in concealed areas such as stored materials, walls, behind appliances, false ceilings, floor voids, wood piles, and attics.
ROOF RAT (RATTUS RATTUS)
Roof rats are more agile than Norway rats and are excellent climbers. They prefer to nest above ground in places like walls, attics, trees, storm drains, and wood piles, often occupying higher levels of buildings.
